End of the Year Writing Activities First Grade

I hope you are patting yourself on the back that you have made it to the end of the year {well, almost!}

There are SO many reasons why I love the End of the Year {hello, summertime!} but most of all, it’s because the students are capable of doing so much more now!

Today, I’m sharing my favorite end-of-the-year writing activities to use in the primary classroom, especially 1st and 2nd grade. These fun projects give your students a chance to reflect on the past year and all the fun you’ve had together in the classroom!

Taco ‘Bout a Great Year Writing Activity

This taco writing craftivity is truly my favorite end-of-the-year writing activity! Anytime I can combine my love of writing and my love of tacos is a big win!

There are two options of writing paper so you can pick what works best for your kiddos.

Please note: this requires a lot of tiny cutting so it may be tricky for young little learners!

This Year Was on Point!

Everyone loves a cactus and you can’t help but smile at this darling writing craft! This is a super simple craft to prep for your students.

The cactus writing prompts are fun for students to reflect on the past year. And of course, they make a darling display, too!

This Year Was Berry Fun!

You may have guessed by now that I love a good pun…and a pun that can be turned into a writing craft!

This berry craft may be the easiest end-of-the-year writing project to prep and complete for students because it requires very little fine-motor cutting. There are several options of writing prompts that can be added to this mini-book, too.

A bonus is that prompts are included so you can use this activity for the beginning of the year, as well!

We Packed a Lot into This Year!

If you are looking for an end-of-the-year writing craft that has TONS of options, look no further than this darling suitcase craft!

To make, students select different “stickers” they want to add to their suitcase representing their favorite activities throughout the year. Then, they share what their favorites have been.

As far as writing options, there are so many choices! You can simply print one page for students to write about the entire year.

Or, you can print multiple pages for students to write even more about the year. For this version, I created a little book and stapled together the finished product.

S’More Craft

I am obsessed with s’mores in real life so I figured I could squeeze them into the classroom for some sweet writing, too 🙂
